Our editorial approach

A useful automotive answer keeps the evidence and its limits together. These are the standards used throughout this publication.

1. Start with the right source

Manufacturer model pages, technical specifications, warranty documents, official corporate disclosures and the original reports of crash-testing bodies are our starting points. A manufacturer's statement is attributed to the manufacturer; it is not described as an independent test.

2. Name the market and version

A model name is not a complete specification. Equipment, battery capacity, powertrain, pricing and warranty terms may differ by country, trim and model year. We identify these differences and do not combine them into an imaginary best-equipped version.

3. Compare like with like

Electric-only range is separated from combined fuel-and-electric range. WLTP, CLTC and NEDC figures are not treated as equivalent. Boot capacities with different measurement methods are qualified. A safety award applies to the assessed model and specification, not automatically to every vehicle from a brand.

4. Answer within the evidence

Where a matched specification or independent test is missing, we say what is known and what remains unresolved. An announced product, transaction or feature is not represented as already available or completed.

5. Keep publication and source dates distinct

The page date records this article's publication or substantive revision. Source materials may be older and remain useful for a stated version. We do not imply a new road test or fresh manufacturer announcement simply because an article is published today.

6. Make verification practical

Each article lists its source links. Readers should consult current local order documents for a purchase, warranty or specification decision. This publication does not replace the terms supplied by a dealer or manufacturer.
